Our stay at The Crofter's House was absolutely divine. Tucked away a stone's throw from the calm and peaceful bay, the property invites you to leave all your stresses of city life at the door the moment you walk in. We spent our days sipping wine by fire light, playing chess and watching films curled up on the sofa in the evening; a cosy retreat after a day of sight-seeing and exploring the rest the Isle of Skye has to offer. The house itself is stylish, yet soothing - neutral colour palettes, soft lighting, rugs and blankets. We stayed for three nights but could absolutely make a week of it here - next time we'll take our swimming costumes and attempt a dip in the bay!

Beautiful crofters house, it’s so charming! The location and the atmosphere feel as though you’re in a fairy tale. We were even greeted with sheep across the street. The house itself is spotless and the bed is super comfortable.

This is the most beautiful and considered space we’ve both stayed in. From the charming original features to the carefully curated design. We will for sure be back to continue exploring life on Skye. Thank you for having us. xx

We had the best time ever in this little cottage! This place will hold a special place in both our hearts. We soaked in the natural beauty of Skye each day, and listened to the wind and rain whilst in front of the fire. We can't wait to return for another magical weekend. Thank you for having us!

This place is delightful. A lovely, well equipped and cosy space with everything you need – home from home. Plenty to do in the area too, particularly the walk to the top of Ben Tianavaig with stunning views. Come home, light a fire, cook a meal and uncork a bottle – bliss! Open the Velux at night to enjoy fresh air and the sound of owls bird, song and sheep, a countryside lovers dream! If you can, you really should book this place now.

We have loved our stay and can't get over how beautiful the decor and design is throughout! It has been a wonderful resting spot for our time here on Skye. Having Ben Tianavaig on our doorstep was a particular highlight and the wonderful bay down the road. We spent our nights enjoying some wine by the log fire and looking at the beautiful berries on the tree outside - so picturesque! Thank you so much and we hope to be back soon.

The Crofter’s House is by far the best I have ever stayed. My partner and I had such a wonderful stay. The cottage is beautiful, clean and so bright. The interior is modern and stylish but complements the traditional architecture of the exterior perfectly! It is a hidden gem, not far at all from Portree but has the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Private and extremely quite with a beautiful beach a few minutes walk away. I would recommend Sarah’s place to anyone looking to stay in Skye, we will definitely be going back!

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the most wonderful weekend. The Crofter’s House is absolutely lovely, the style and feel of it is so calming and relaxing and we had the most brilliant weekend. Genuinely our favourite place that we’ve stayed in, ever! We really hope to come back again another time.

I can’t imagine there’s anywhere more beautiful or stylish to stay on Skye. We had the happiest time in front of the fire morning and night. The house is a short walk to an almost deserted cove full of curious seals who pop up their heads to say hello. It’s a perfect base for exploring Skye, the only issue is that you’ll never want to leave the house! Can not recommend this place enough. If you find it free for your dates – book it quick. It’s very very special. Thank you for having us x

We have been blown away by how lovely and cosy the space is, and how incredibly beautiful the local area is (and Skye in general). We spent many a moment cosied up by the fire and have had the most relaxing few days. Also.. we got engaged here!! This will be a holiday to remember forever, thank you!! We don’t want to leave!

We stayed for a week, but wish we could’ve stayed longer. Beautifully presented cottage in a perfect location – central, but just out of the way enough to be totally peaceful and quiet. No road noise and streetlights – you’ll sleep perfectly. The place has a cosy stove, large double bed, Scandi-furniture and all the accoutrements you’d possibly need for a perfectly relaxed holiday in Skye. Highly recommended. We’ll stay here again when we come back to Skye.

This was the dream place to stay on our honeymoon. We loved the house and how central is was to Portree. if you are looking for your Scotland fairytale this place is it. Sarah was responsive and organized and the fire was an incredible plus. We would recommend Loch Bay for dinner (soooo good). Hiking is everywhere, but we did the Quiraing (if you like hiking don’t just do the viewpoint, go all the way into the park for a truly epic view). Thanks Sarah for the amazing trip!

What a magical four days. Skye is such a wonderful place and coming back to this beautiful cottage has been like coming home. After a day of exploring and walking, experiencing weather of all descriptions, coming in to a lovely, comfortable house has been bliss. Sitting by the window, comparing photos, playing scrabble with a good bottle of wine and listening to the owls hoot… just heaven. The cottage has everything we needed. Thank you for all the details that made our stay here absolutely perfect.

The Crofter’s House is an exceptional place to stay. A short drive from the conveniences of Portree in a secluded village, the house was exactly as described. Sarah has thought of everything you might need for your stay, the space is beautifully designed with high-quality furnishings, and it was warm and cosy with a number of heaters and a wood fire. If that wasn’t enough, we saw an otter messing about in the bay, and a hedgehog trundling past the window. We’d heartily recommend The Crofter’s House as a base to explore the island and hope to come back again soon.
